Canadian designer Justina McCaffrey, famous for her wedding dresses and cocktail gowns (worn by celebrities and style influencers the world over), will be leading a workshop at the TREnDS fashion forum this May in Toronto.

During the session What are you communicating – lessons from the bridal world, Justina will share her insights about the subtle (and not so subtle!) messages we send through our fashion choices. Everything from cut, to choice of fabric, to different lines on an outfit can convey all kinds of messages about the wearer. Justina’s aim is to lead a session that will be both fun and insightful, equipping those in the audience to have a different eye for clothing the next time they shop or put together an outfit. Where does her expertise come from?

Justina has been a successful designer and fashion entrepreneur for over a decade. Justina McCaffrey Haute Couture sells internationally, with high profile clients in New York, Shanghai, Los Angeles and Tokyo. Not to mention her coveted bridal collection, which can be admired both on her website and Facebook profile.

“Justina’s bridal shows are well known for their eloquent voice of dramatic silk draping, as well as the fresh romantic and modern nature of the classical music inspired collections…invoking elements from high art symphonic blends of ballet, movement, and opera to create a relevant and striking line of bridal gown collections.” (Source: Justina McCaffrey bio, justinabridal.com)

Known for developing ‘the perfect corset’, Justina’s unique, luxury creations can also be found at such prestigious American retailers as Neiman Marcus. Her most recent accomplishment? A partnership with Marshall Fields to create her very own branded lingerie collection. Look out! Justina’s not done yet and we at TREnDS are very excited to have her!
